Ian and Vanessa would like to welcome you to their little piece of French sky!

Le Rocher was built in the 18th century and until we purchased it, was a working farm that was in desperate need of restoration. It is on the edge of an idyllic Bretagne village close to the Normandy border. We brought a dilapidated Le Rocher in 2004 and have spent our many holidays restoring it to how you find it today (with the help of a further rebuild following a burst pipe in the attic in the winter of 2009).It offers a very comfortable base for your stay in this wonderful region of France and is fitted out to a high standard with all mod cons. There are 3 double bedrooms with a large family bathroom. Down stairs a large island kitchen complete with range cooker and dishwasher. This is open plan to the spacious lounge and dining area. We have recently fitted a large log burner in the lounge, just right to lift those dark winter nights. There is also freesat English tv. All bedding and towels are provided (except beach/pool towels).

Our house is set in a 1 acre garden with a further 5 acres of farm land attached. There is the normal outside furniture for your use (chairs, tables, loungers etc)as well as a barbeque. The garden is surrounded by a large variety of trees including apple, pear, plum, cherry, cob nut and walnuts. Also around the grounds there are a number of blackberries bushes. Feel free to help yourself to produce during your stay, if they are in season. We try to encourage wildlife on our land. This includes a barn owl who feeds in the barn and bats who often fly around the courtyard on summers nights. You can often see buzzards circling in the skies above the house. You can sometimes hear them calling to each other. Our other visitors have included wild boar who were enjoying the autumn wind falls, red squirrels, badgers and adders. As there is very little light polution, when the nights are clear, why not enjoy the night’s sky. We have spent many night looking into the amazingly clear sky watching the shooting stars. There are several times a year when meteor storms occur and shooting stars dance across the sky several times a minute.

Where are we?

We are located 45 minutes from the beautiful brittany coast near a town called Fougeres. We are a small farm located right on the edge of the tranquil village of Parce (we have given the full address below along with how to find us on google earth). We are about 1 hour from the port at St Malo, similar from Dinard Airport and 2 hours from Cherbourg and Caen. We are about a four and a half hours drive from The Channel Tunnel on motorways it is a pleasure to drive on. Not only are they relatively quiet by our standards with excellent services en route, they are also through some wonderful country side. Our address is LE ROCHER, PARCE, 35210, BRITTANY To see where we are on Google earth type in LATITUDE 48DEG, 16’ 26.29”NORTH AND LONGITUDE 1DEG, 11’50.23” WEST

When you arrive at Le-Rocher, there will be a small welcome pack of provisions for you to enjoy. The house will have been cleaned through and beds made. This is all done by our good friends who live in the village. Should you have any problems throughout your stay they would be able to help you if we cannot resolve it over the phone. We do ask that you respect our home while you are a guest there, and ask that you leave it as you found it.
